The Vice Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Professor Opoku Agyemang has appealed to the Electoral Commission (EC) and journalists taking part in the Monday Special Voting exercise to be Objective, fair, and truthful.
She said that the integrity of the electoral process hinges on the ability of journalists to report accurately and represent the situation correctly.
Speaking to Journalists shortly after she engaged with Muslim students in Cape Coast, the NDC Vice presidential Candidate urged media professionals to uphold the highest standards of journalism during the electioneering period.
She also called upon security personnel tasked with maintaining peace during the elections to fulfill their responsibilities diligently.
She indicated that their commitment to maintaining peace was essential for a smooth electoral process.
Professor Opoku Agyemang urged all individuals who have signed up to vote in the special voting exercise to participate actively in the elections.
“I encourage everyone to go ahead and cast their vote,” she said.
She urged the Electoral Commission (EC) to prioritize the conduct of free, fair, and transparent elections.
She stressed the need for the EC to be a fair referee by playing their role as defined in their mandate.
