Sara Adwoa Safo, Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya on Tuesday, June, 14, has been summoned by the Privileges Committee of Parliament. According to a parliamentary service notice many attempts to get the MP to show up through various possible channels proved futile.
The notice issued through the media on Tuesday, June 14, requires her to appear before the Privileges Committee on Wednesday, July 6.
“The Chairman of the Privileges Committee has directed that summons to the Hon. Member for Dome Kwabenya to appear before the Privileges Committee of Parliament on 6th July 2022 at 12:00 noon at Parliament House, New Administration Block, Committee Room 1, 2 & 3 pursuant to Article 103 (6) of the Constitution and Order 205 of the Standing Orders of Parliament be published in all relevant media. This comes after all attempts to reach the Honourable Member by the Committee failed.”
The Committee noted that it had to employ this new means of reaching Sara Adwoa Safo since all possible available means, both official and unofficial to serve the Member with an invitation letter yielded little results.
The committee also advised the Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya who doubles as the Gender Minister to exploit zoom to satisfy the summons request if possible, at 12 noon, July, 6, 2022.
Sara Adwoa Safo has been absent from Parliamentary proceedings for almost a year now hence the summons.
