The Akwasidae Festival is celebrated by the Ashanti people and chiefs in Ashanti, as well as the Ashanti diaspora.
The festival is celebrated on a Sunday, once every six weeks and it’s centered on ancestral reverence, remembrance and acknowledgement of past kings and noble feats.
It also serves as a celebration of the Golden Stool and a cultural vibrancy that brings together the Asantehene, sub-kings and subjects at Manhyia in Kumasi.
