In spite of the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) warnings, a businessman named Dr. Norbert went ahead and buried his late father in a white Toyota Corolla over the weekend.
Prior to his father’s burial, Dr. Norbert had sought permission from the EPA, but his request was denied due to the violation of environmental laws involved.
Nevertheless, the businessman proceeded with his original plan of burying his father in a car, driven by their strong emotional connection.
A video shared on UTV Ghana‘s official Twitter page showed the deceased laid to rest in a reclined front passenger seat, driven into his final resting place on the outskirts of town.
According to Alhassan Abdul Washeed, UTV’s correspondent for the Upper East region, Dr. Norbert, a medical practitioner in Navrongo, was invited by the EPA, Kassena Nankana Municipal Assembly, and the National Security to discuss the disregard for regulations exhibited by his actions, but he declined the invitation.
There are suspicions that Dr. Norbert may be directed to exhume his father’s grave as a consequence of defying the authorities’ regulations and appeals.
