The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has closed down the East Legon branch of Marwako restaurant. This is as a result of widespread reports of food poisoning on social media especially on Twitter.
“The FDA has taken notice of complaints from the public about the suspected food poisoning at the East Legon Branch of Marwarko Restaurant. We have closed down the restaurant and together with other relevant agencies, started investigations”, the tweet said.
Apparently most patrons who had visited the restaurant over the weekend during the week had reported to various hospitals where it was detected as food poisoning. Whiles some wondered how many numbers could have been involved the case, others have called on the The Food and Drugs Authority to periodically visits eateries and make sure high food standards are upheld.
