Former Central Regional Minister under the Mills led government, Ama Benyiwa-Doe, is dead. Sources available to Fillnana.com says she died in the early hours of Sunday, September, 19,2021. This sad event happened in Tema.
According to sources in the National Democratic Congress, she has not been well for some time now. Although she was receiving treatment, the illness got serious and she was rushed to the hospital where she passed. She was 73.
Ama Benyiwah-Doe comes from the Central Region of Ghana, precisely, Gomoa West. She was born in 1950. The Late President Mills nominated her as the Central Regional Minister in January 2009 to 2012. She was also a former member of the council of State.
She occupied the seat as a member of Parliament for the Gomoa West Constituency from 1992 until 2004 where she was defeated by Joe Kingsley Hackman of the NPP in the 2004 General elections.
She is also a member of the Pan-African Parliament.
