The Ghana Police Service has arrested four young individuals in Greater Accra. The four whose names were given as Salaami Abubakari, 36, Daniel Opare Oman, 43, Edward Holm, 38 and Daniel Clottey, 41 years. According to the police, these four led scores of people to allegedly block a road at Jamestown. These persons took to burning of tyres , further creating a sense of fear and disorder.
“Preliminary investigations suggest the unlawful protest was in response to the widely circulated list of potential Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives”. This was contained in a Press statement released by the Ghana Police Service.
The Ghana Police has advised individuals and group of persons who intend to unlawfully assemble and cause mayhem over the prospective MMDCEs list or any other matter, to immediately abandon such plans or face the law.
